Lesley Ugochukwu's second goal in as many matches and a thunderbolt from Loum Tchaouna clinched all three points for the Clarets at Turf Moor.

A goal in each half from Scott Parker's men proved to be the difference, as Burnley secured a second Premier League victory of the season.

Ugochukwu opened the scoring on 19 minutes, arriving bang on cue to head home Kyle Walker's pinpoint cross - before Tchaouna lit up Turf Moor with an early contender for goal of the season, firing home an unstoppable 25-yard strike into the roof of the net.

It was a hard-fought and deserved win for Parker's men, who defended superbly as a team throughout, for three crucial points.

Head Coach Parker made three changes from the side that played Aston Villa prior to the international break, with Zian Flemming, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Ugochukwu all coming into the XI for Lyle Foster, Tchaouna and Josh Laurent.

After a quiet start to the game, the first effort on target came from a free-kick from 30-yards out, but Bruun Larsen’s effort was comfortable for Karl Darlow in the Leeds goal.

However, there was no stopping the opening goal, which came 10 minutes later, as Walker’s teasing cross into the area was met by the head of the towering Ugochukwu to plant home a header into the back of the net to give the Clarets the lead.

After the opener, chances for both sides were limited, until Brendan Aaronson was gifted a golden opportunity to slot home the equaliser from close range in an unmarked position, but the Leeds forward could only fire straight into the path of Martin Dúbravka, who made a smart stop.

Despite a late flurry of pressure from United to try and draw level, including an Anton Stach free-kick which was pushed wide by the excellent Dúbravka, the Clarets held on to go into the break ahead.

With no real chances for either side in the opening 10 minutes of the second-half, Parker made his first change of the afternoon, as Bruun Larsen made way for Tchaouna.

As the game approached the hour mark, United then carved open a great chance, but Jack Harrison could only rifle over the crossbar from inside the area from Sean Longstaff's cross.

United were pushing for a goal and enjoying a spell of possession with the 70th minute mark approaching, but Dúbravka was there again, on hand to keep out Lucas Nmecha's header.

But it was the Clarets who struck again and what a strike it was - Tchaouna picked up the ball just outside the area, drove forward and smashed the ball into the top corner past Karl Darlow to put the Clarets two goals ahead.

It was a strike worthy of winning any game, and put the gloss on a fine home performance - and thoroughly deserved victory - for Parker's side.
