Clarets head to Manchester to take on the Blues

Burnley are back on the road on Saturday, as Scott Parker's side travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City.

The Clarets go into this weekend's game off the back of picking up a valuable point against Nottingham Forest last time out .

Parker's side will be looking to build on the four points they have already claimed from the opening five games in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, City are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, with Pep Guardiola's side currently sat 9th in the league table with just three points separating them and Arsenal in second place.

The opposition

After suffering two defeats in their opening three Premier League games, City have not looked back, going on to win three and draw one of their last four fixtures.

Pep Guardiola's side kicked off the season in fine style, running out 4-0 winners against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

However, back-to-back defeats at home to Spurs and away to Brighton & Hove Albion followed that, but City responded in impressive fashion with a 3-0 victory in the Manchester derby at the Etihad.

Since that win over United, City have gone on to defeat Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, draw with Arsenal at the Emirates and then book their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round with a win over Huddersfield Town this week.

The last time the Clarets travelled to the Etihad was in January 2024, when the hosts came out on top in a 3-1 win in Manchester.
