Burnley take on Rovers in East Lancashire derby

The Clarets head to Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm), as Scott Parker's side face Blackburn Rovers in the second East Lancashire derby of the 2024/25 campaign.

Burnley travel to Blackburn on a 12 match unbeaten run in the Sky Bet Championship and the Clarets will be aiming to continue that run, with the game shown live on Sky Sports Main Event.

Parker's side currently sit 2nd in the league table prior to the weekend's derby and a victory against Rovers could see the Clarets remain in the automatic promotion places.

The Clarets are unbeaten in their last 10 meetings with Blackburn and have won the last four visits to Ewood Park and the visitors will be looking to extend that record this weekend.

Rovers currently sit in 7th place, 10 points behind Burnley and John Eustace's side are winless in their last four Championship games.

The opposition

After promotion back to the Championship in 2018, Rovers are in their seventh successive season in the second-tier after staying up on the final day of last season.

During those seven years, Blackburn have finished in the top eight twice, two 15th place finishes, an 11th place spot and last season's 19th finish.

Since returning to the Championship under Tony Mowbray, Jon Dahl Tomasson took over in the summer of 2022, before John Eustace then took charge in February of this year.

Rovers started the current season brightly, after suffering their first defeat of the campaign in October. Eustace's side then sparked a six-match winning run in the Championship, before it came to an end at Millwall just before Christmas.

Following that loss, Saturday's opponents are now winless in their last four fixtures, with draws against Sunderland and Leeds, and a defeat at home to Hull City.
