An update on how the Clarets on international duty fared over the last week

Six Clarets featured for their respective nations around the globe over the past week in the March international schedule.

Axel Tuanzebe (DR Congo)

The defender scored the crucial winner in the DR Congo's World Cup play-off final qualifier against Jamaica on Tuesday night, securing the Leopards' spot in this summer's tournament.

Tuanzebe played all 120 minutes, with the tie goalless in 90 minutes, it went into extra-time, where the centre-back then steered home a corner 10 minutes into the first-half of extra-time.

That goal proved to be the winning moment in the tense play-off final, with the Burnley defender confirming a first World Cup for the DR Congo in 52 years.

Martin Dúbravka (Slovakia)

Dúbravka narrowly missed out on a World Cup play-off final place, as Slovakia lost 4-3 last Thursday to Kosovo in a seven-goal thriller.

The goalkeeper completed the full match in Bratislava, but his team were unable to get over the line to reach a spot in play-off finals.

Dúbravka was then an unused substitute on Tuesday night in their 2-0 win over Romania in a friendly.

Lesley Ugochukwu (France U21s)

The midfielder started and played 90 minutes in both of France's U21 Euro qualifiers over the March break.

Ugochukwu helped his side win 5-1 in their opening fixture against Luxembourg, before a 2-1 win at home to Iceland on Monday, which puts the young 'Les Bleus' top of their qualifying group.

Armando Broja (Albania)

Broja was another Claret who narrowly missed out on a World Cup play-off final spot, as the striker featured for 22 minutes in their play-off semi-final clash defeat to Poland last week.

The forward then completed 45 minutes on Tuesday evening, as Albania fell to a 1-0 defeat in a friendly against Ukraine.

Lyle Foster (South Africa)

South Africa took on Panama twice over the March international break, hosting the South American side in two separate friendlies.

Foster started in both games, after a 1-1 draw in the first meeting where the striker played 72 minutes, Bafana Bafana then lost 2-1 in the second clash, with Foster making way at half-time.

Max Weiß (Germany U21s)

Young goalkeeper Max Weiß was an unused substitute in Germany's U21 qualifier with Greece on Tuesday night.
