Matt Lowton’s Crystal Palace cracker has earned him a nomination for the Premier League’s Budweiser Goal of the Month.
The Clarets’ full-back is on a shortlist of eight for the February prize.
Lowton earned his place among some elite company with a stunning strike at Selhurst Park which brought the defender his first top-flight goal for Burnley and his first in the Premier League for almost eight years.
Lowton delivered Palace the final blow in a vital 3-0 win for the Clarets when he collected the ball just inside the Eagles’ half before setting off on a mazy run and after playing a one-two with Jay Rodriguez thumping a brilliant first-time volley into the far corner of the net. It was a goal worthy of winning any award and the Clarets’ man now needs your help to put him in with a chance of the prize.
Supporters’ votes play a part in deciding the winner, so vote for Lowton’s super strike here. Voting closes at 6pm on Monday 8th March.
