Manager Vincent Kompany says the future is 'bright and exciting' as the Clarets drew a close to the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon at Turf Moor.
Despite suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on a boiling day in Lancashire, Kompany has faith and belief in his team to bounce back following this season's relegation.
Speaking post-match, the Clarets boss discussed the performance against Forest and highlighted his 'exciting squad' as Burnley prepare for a campaign in the Championship.
"Look, first of all we conceded two shots and two goals really quickly and it could have gone on to be one of those days, but I thought we grew into the game and could have nicked a draw at the end.
"It was a good response from the team, we gave ourselves a chance to get a result and didn't stop fighting. You have to be clinical in both boxes, otherwise you don't get your rewards.
"We created a few chances and could have had a few more goals, but we won't sit feeling sorry four ourselves it's almost drawing a line under it now and there's an exciting future ahead.
"We have a really strong squad, not quite ready for the Premier League yet I'll be honest, but Championship wise it's a very, very exciting squad and hopefully they can get back to the Premier League.
"You saw Forest celebrating there at the end on our pitch and we don't take anything for granted the Championship is very tough but hopefully it's us celebrating on the pitch on the final day next season."

It was an emotional afternoon at Turf Moor, as the Clarets bid farewell to Jack Cork and Johann Berg Gudmundsson, who are both set to leave the Club following 16 years service between them.
Kompany paid tribute to the pair following their departures and says there's now an opportunity for others to 'rise and become leaders'.
"It's never an easy moment on these sort of occasions, but there's always a moment where it comes to an end and now we have to rely on the rise of other players.
"Cullen and O'Shea for example have risen as the season has gone on this year and new leaders will come through, but the main thing is to recognise what they (Gudmundsson & Cork) have done over the years at this Club.
"It was nice to recognise that with them today and say goodbye at home in front of the fans."
