Burnley boss previews Saturday's clash with Boro

Manager Vincent Kompany is looking forward to returning to Turf Moor this weekend, as the Clarets host Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough side in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Clarets chief spoke to the media on Friday morning ahead of the game and discussed the special atmosphere at home, facing Carrick as a manager and Anass Zaroury's expected return.

Kompany on back playing at Turf Moor this weekend:

"It's been amazing our support and I don't think it's just down to our results at all, I don't believe it's just the results; I think it's how we have conducted ourselves towards the club, the past & history of the club too.

"Not just what we do in games, the grinds, the wins, especially in a town like Burnley, people get behind you and stick with you, more than just for the results.

"We're looking forward to being back at Turf tomorrow and it will be another electric atmosphere, I'm sure."

Kompany on coming up against Carrick:

"He's a really decent guy, he's one of the ex-pro's as well where I don't know if he knew himself, but a probably a lot of players that played with him or against him, would have tipped him to become a very good coach.

"He's at the start of his managerial journey, like I am and it's great to see people back that you have competed against in your playing career.

Kompany on when Anass Zaroury will return:

"I'm not handling the post Morocco celebrations or logistics, but he will have to go see the King and people of Morocco first, which is something we will allow him to and will be a nice experience for him.

"But, as soon as that is all done, he will be back on a plane and back here hopefully for the United game, if not then the Birmingham match."

Kompany on consistent performances:

"The key has not been looking at the table, trying not to speculate, not getting carried away and try not control the things we can't control.

"I won't ever promise a result, but what I will promise is that when we cross that white line, we give our all and the level of commitment we have will always be there.

So, when I am asked about the consistency, it's the commitment and dedication and the standards, that don't drop."
