Manager Vincent Kompany says he’s ‘locked in on Brentford’ as the Clarets prepare for their return to league football on Saturday with a trip to the Gtech Stadium.
Burnley face the Bees following the October international break and Kompany hopes his side can get some more points on the board in the next few fixtures before the November international break.
The Clarets faced five of last season's top eight in the opening eight matches prior to the recent international break and now have testing away trips to Brentford, Bournemouth and Arsenal with a home game with Crystal Palace in between before the next break.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to London, Kompany said: “Every game will be tough in the Premier League, but everybody knows when you play Man City and these sort of teams, they have something extremely special.
“Now we get to take the learning from this first period of games and look forward to hopefully being good in all of the games coming up.
“I’m past the point of reflecting on previous fixtures now, I’m locked in on Brentford! We are expecting a really tough game against a good side.”

Kompany added: “We’ve mentioned Forest away which was a tough game and Luton away, which is a tough away game. It’s important to be good in those games but in the end, you want to pick up points against the top teams as well.
“In those games there have been moments that have cost us and that’s where we have to grow to.
“I’ve always said this about the team, I do think there is that balance between being able to have results now, but also making sure that in the future we’re able to get the results against the big teams as well.”

Ahead of this weekend’s trip, Kompany provided an update on the injuries of both defender’s Jordan Beyer and Ameen Al-Dakhil, as Beyer missed the previous game against Chelsea and Al-Dakhil was withdrawn at half-time and missed international duty with Belgium.
“Al-Dakhil had to withdraw (from Belgium international duty) because he came off at half-time against Chelsea and couldn’t continue.
“Luckily the news is quite positive for us, so we have to decision to make by Saturday.”
The Burnley boss added on Beyer: “We feared the worst at first. He’s not back yet, but we don’t think the extent is dramatic. He’s progressing well within his rehab.
“This is why you build a squad though. The players that don’t play want to show what they can do.”
