Manager Vincent Kompany believes that all of his players within the squad will have a key part to play this season and is looking forward to giving out more opportunities in Tuesday night's trip to Salford City.
The Clarets travel to the Peninsula Stadium for the first time ever to take on the Ammies and Kompany says it's an 'exciting game' for him and the team ahead of the third round clash.
Speaking ahead of the cup tie, Kompany said: “It’s an exciting game for us and there’s a lot of players that we want to see in a Burnley shirt and we believe can make an impact on the squad this season.
“There’s plenty of exciting players in our squad and we’re going to need everyone this season. The best way to get everyone to improve is to start them in a match like this.
“I’m looking forward to the game. It’s a good moment for us to go play this match."
The Clarets will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run away from home this season, albeit only playing two fixtures on the road both at Nottingham Forest with a victory in the previous round and a draw in the Premier League last Monday.
Kompany believes that performances have picked up and progressed in the weeks gone by in the 2023/24 campaign and insists the squad are fighting everyday for a place in the starting XI.
Kompany said: “I think everyone has to remember that a lot of the new guys are still learning what we are trying to do.
“We saw this last season as well, as the team picked up results as time went on and for us this year it’s the same story.
“The team are fighting every day for the spots and making sure they are getting the performances in which they are.”
