Manager Vincent Kompany was pleased to see his side take all three points and keep a clean sheet at Turf Moor on Tuesday night, as the Clarets beat Birmingham City 3-0 in the Sky Bet Championship.
Anass Zaroury gave Burnley the lead with 49 seconds played, before Connor Roberts grabbed the second just before the break. Substitute Nathan Tella then sealed the win in stoppage time, as the forward scored his eighth goal of the campaign.
The Clarets are the leading scorers across the top four leagues in England and have 14 different scorers this season and Kompany had high praise for the team's efforts at chipping in with goals all over the pitch.
Post-match, Kompany said: “We’re really happy, three goals at Turf Moor and a clean sheet is a good night for us and nice to send the fans home happy over the festive period.
“I think the way we look at how we want to score goals, they should come from collective phases more than just the individual.
“For that reason, I say it’s never easy to score goals, but I think it’s easy to know where the goals will come from and they just have to get into the right areas.
“They have done that extremely well this season and it’s really pleasing that players across the team are chipping in on the goals.
Zaroury, who started for the first time since returning from his World Cup journey in Qatar, fired home early on, before Roberts then drilled in from just inside the area, following a one-two with Josh Brownhill.
Tella was then introduced on the hour mark after missing the last two games through illness and notched a third of the night, after rounding John Ruddy and stroking the ball home.
Kompany gave the goal scorers a mention after the game and hailed their strikes in the impressive performance, that sees the Clarets move 11 points clear of the play-off spots.
“I don’t think he could have had imagined a better return, there was the question mark whether he was ready to start and play, but he showed in training he was fit and ready for it.
“When you score with less than a minute gone, I think that answers any questions over whether he was ready to start or not.
“He took his goal really well, with a nice finish and I think that allowed him to brush away any doubt over his fitness.
“I thought the tempo leading up to that goal was tremendous, Connor gave us a lot defensively and he did everything he needed to at the back.
“But then gave us that little bit extra going forward and got his goal, you can’t really ask for more as coach.
“And for Nathan we had the feeling from the side he would be ready to come on in the 60th minute and would be good for him to get involved.
“He did exactly that, was running in behind causing problems and the goal was a nice reward.”
