Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm that Corey King has signed his first professional contract, as he transitions into Andy Farrell’s U21s squad.
The defender has agreed terms on a one-year deal, with the Club holding a 12-month extension option.
After putting pen to paper at Burnley Training Centre, he said: “Having spent coming up to 10 years at this club, it’s a really proud moment for myself and my family.
“I had a rocky start to my scholarship with a big injury, but I hit the ground running after switching to centre-back in my second year.
“It was good to get a goal in the FA Youth Cup, too, and you don’t really realise how special the run was until you look back.
“Being able to play different positions has helped me, and I’m really excited for the new season.”

King’s journey with the Clarets has been a long one, having joined the Club at U9s level.
After progressing right the way through the ranks he earned scholarship terms ahead of the 2024/25 season.
During that campaign he transitioned from a forward into a centre-back, and this season has seen King become a mainstay in the U18s’ backline.
There was a moment to remember in the FA Youth Cup too, when the 18-year-old scored the first goal in our 2-0 fifth round victory over Charlton Athletic.
Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “Corey has shown real adaptability this season, transitioning from attack to defence and playing consistently well.
“I look forward to seeing him continue his development with us in the coming season.”
