Head Coach Scott Parker insists his team must 'keep doing what they're doing' as the Clarets prepare for home games against promotion-chasing Sunderland and Leeds United in the next 10 days.

The Clarets take on the Black Cats on Friday night under the Turf Moor lights in the first of a big double-header in Lancashire, before the Whites come to town just over a week later on Monday 27th.

Speaking to the media ahead of taking on Regis Le Bris' side, Parker understands the importance and magnitude of these type of fixtures, but urged his side to remain on the same path and have the same approach as every other game.

Parker explained: "They're big games, of course they are, but they're all big games in this league. We would have this same conversation if we were on a losing streak of three games and we're playing a team sat in 13th, you would also be saying this next game is humongous.

"Sunderland at home and Leeds at home are two big games for us. Maybe there's a different approach to how these teams want to come and set up against us, certainly at Turf Moor and that may suit a little bit.

"But I reiterate, this is a game of football on Friday night against a very, very good side and we just need to keep doing what we're doing.

"We need to keep improving for sure, but we need to keep adopting the same attitudes, the same approach of what we've done for large parts of this season and that's given us a platform to be where we are. My feeling is we carry on along those lines and we'll keep also improving."

Friday's opponents Sunderland currently sit 4th in the Championship table ahead of the showdown and Parker is expecting a challenging test from the only other side, alongside Burnley, that are unbeaten at home this season in the league.

The Clarets boss said: “They're a very good side. I think they've proven that over the course of this season as well. They’re a really well-coached team and have done remarkably well. They've got individuals and pace in their team that we need to be fully aware of and we will be.

“We faced similar teams and similar qualities, and we've dealt with that pretty well. So, as always, we'll approach this game and try and be as dominant as we can, try and take everything we can out of it, and nullify them as best we can.
