Manager Vincent Kompany insists there is 'still a job to be done' this weekend as the Clarets entertain Queens Park Rangers at Turf Moor in the Sky Bet Championship with silverware on the line.
Victory against the London side would see Burnley crowned league champions in front of a sell-out home crowd after sealing promotion to the Premier League against Middlesbrough on Good Friday.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Kompany admits it's an occasion and opportunity his side can look forward to but there is still work to be done and QPR will be difficult opponents.
The Clarets chief said: "It's still hypothetical, it's not happened yet. We feel there’s still a job to do but it’s definitely something we’re looking forward to in terms of how things have lined up for us to have the opportunity to do it in a home game.
"I think it’s more about an opportunity rather than ‘it’s got to happen’ but we’ve got the opportunity on Saturday and we’re looking forward to that.
"We're preparing for a tough game. We faced Rotherham, Reading and Blackpool recently who were all fighting and the energy a team fighting to stay up still can be difficult.
"We played well in those game but didn't secure the three points that we wanted. This weekend we're back at Turf Moor and that's our special place and it has been all season it won't change on Saturday."

The Clarets remain the only side in Championship to still be unbeaten at home this season with just two games to go. Newcastle United back in 2009 were the last side to achieve an undefeated record at home across the full campaign.
If Burnley avoid defeat to QPR this weekend it would also see Kompany's men equal the undefeated league record of 23 matches from the 2015/16 title winning season.
When asked about continuing the records, Kompany had high praise for Turf Moor: "Its got this feeling of it. It’s as if you are entering someone else’s property.
"We get more defensive, they are in our back yards and its that feeling of we are defending it and don't want them to take anything.
"It's hostile in the best way possible. If you’re going to come to Burnley and take anything away from us it comes at a price I'm afraid."
Kompany also provided an update on the injury progress of Nathan Tella and Hjalmar Ekdal after both recently picked up knocks.
“All positive I would say. We’ve got quite an intense session planned for today and we’ll know more today and tomorrow, but I think all positive.
"I think Ekdal is the only one who is a little bit on the same plan as Nathan in terms of when we expect him back. Everybody else I think it’s close.”
