Johann Berg Gudmundsson is looking to end pre-season on a high to send the Clarets into the Premier League campaign in ideal shape.
Sean Dyche’s men face Spanish top-flight side Cadiz at Turf Moor on Saturday (KO 2pm) aiming to complete a 100 per cent record in their pre-season programme.
Cadiz – who beat La Liga champions Atletico Madrid on penalties to win the Ramon de Carranza Trophy on Wednesday night – will provide top-class opposition a week before they start their own domestic campaign.
And Gudmundsson is hoping for a successful end to a productive summer’s work before the Clarets face Brighton in their opening competitive clash on Saturday-week.
“Pre-season has been really good,” said the Icelandic international.

“We’ve had a lot of games and a lot of wins as well which is always important.
“It's on now to the final one against a good side I think in Cadiz. I've not seen a lot of them but coming from Spain they can play some nice football, which a lot of the Premier League teams are doing at the moment as well, so it will be a good test for us and it will be good to get the last one away.”
Burnley have tapered up their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 behind-closed-door win over top-flight Newcastle United on Tuesday making it six successive victories against opposition from League Two upwards.
Gudmundsson has been heavily involved throughout – including a goalscoring performance in a training-ground pipe-opener against Morecambe – as he looks to hit the ground running following a couple of injury-disrupted campaigns.
Boss Dyche is hoping to have a nearly fully-fit squad to start the campaign and Gudmundsson believes the Clarets – who are still looking to recruit in the current transfer window – are well equipped to tackle a sixth successive Premier League campaign.

“The whole team is doing really well,” added the wideman, who has been a constant presence in the Clarets’ current top-flight run.
“I've got really good minutes in and training sessions as well and the squad is looking really fit and everybody raring to go, so it will hopefully be a good season for us.
“Every time we go out there we give it our all and we play some good football as well.
“It's still the same core that we've had for a long time here. It's a big advantage for us that there is a lot of Premier League experience now in this team and that counts for a lot.
“We have got a couple of new faces in, which raises the standards. People are maybe looking for a few more but we'll see what happens and we'll be cracking to go.”
The Clarets are looking forward to welcoming back more fans for Saturday’s game, with tickets available – from just £5 – to buy HERE
