Mike Jackson's thoughts ahead of Sunday's game

Jackson on Wolves:

“They’ve done terrific so far this season. They’re a club with a clear identity on how they play, and I think the manager has come into the league and taken to it really well.

“Their style is no secret but they’re very difficult to play against so it’s up to us to try and find those weaknesses.”

Jackson on the quality of the Premier League:

“Every team in this league is dangerous. Even with Southampton, we saw that if you switch off for a moment, you can get cut open because the teams are that good with their quality.

“I think every team, irrespective of where they are, they’re good sides with top class managers and good players. You’ve got to be on it continuously, you can’t take your eye off it.”

Jackson on the Southampton victory:

“I’ve been watching a bit of Wolves and bits of our stuff, but I haven’t had a chance to watch the full game back yet. From what I remember of it, it was a real strong performance and the team showed strong character again.

“It was a really good atmosphere inside Turf Moor as well, I think that had a big influence on stuff. The players brought the crowd with them [through their performance] too and we spoke about doing that before the game.

“We’ve had a great performance but that’s gone now. We have to try and harness that, and move into Sunday still trying to improve.

“I still think there’s more to come from the group and more that they can achieve. Hopefully that’s just a starting point last time out.”

Jackson on the thanking the Burnley fans at the end of Thursday's game:

“It wasn’t planned, it was just something that I could see at the end. I could see all the lads were there and the fans were still there too, so I thought it was the least that we could do to give back to them for their support.

I hope that they enjoyed the game and I’m really pleased with the way that they supported the group, they got right behind them.”
