Midfielder Josh Brownhill looks ahead to Sunday’s game against Wolves at Turf Moor, reflects on last night’s win over Southampton and praises the Clarets support.
Brownhill on the 2-0 win against Southampton:
“There’s no better feeling than winning a game of football and winning a game of football in the Premier League.
“In our last two home games, we’ve got a couple of wins and they’re important ones as well.
“Today, everyone’s in high spirits. We’re not where we want to be yet, and we’ve still got some tough games to go which the lads know, but you have to enjoy wins like that.”

Brownhill on the Clarets fans:
“I was aware when I first joined the club of how passionate the fans are and how much the whole town relies on this football club. Football has a massive impact on the town, and that’s another reason for us wanting to get the wins and the points.
“The crowd [at Turf Moor] have been exceptional all season. When you get a moment in the game to take it in and look around, they’re right behind us and it does help us.
“I think that’s shown on the pitch, especially last night. When they’re behind us like that, it gives us a real edge.”
Brownhill on the run-in:
“It’s all about us winning games. If we win the majority of ours towards the end of the season, then we’ll be alright. We know where we’re at, and we know what we need to do to get the points.
“What we do here is bring energy and hard work, last night was the same and we’ve got the momentum now.
“If we can go onto Sunday and win again, then it’d be massive for us.”
Brownhill praises support ahead of Sunday clash
Brownhill on Wolves:
“It’s all about us, but you’ve also got to recognise that they’ve got some quality players. They wouldn’t be where they are in the division and fighting for a place in Europe if they weren't.
“We played them away and drew [0-0 in December] with a decent performance, and we’ve played them for a good few years, so we know what to expect.
“It is about us though with the confidence and momentum that we’ve got. We have to continue that."
Brownhill on Ashley Westwood:
“Westy is a massive part of the group. We’re so close and everybody’s really good friends, so we know what it means to us and to the fans too.
“Any injury in itself is a shame, but that is not a nice one to have so for us, as well as doing it for the club, the fans, and for ourselves, we’re also doing it for him.
“It’s all about putting in good performances now and getting three points.”
