Northern Ireland international Jackie Burns is Burnley Women’s latest new recruit ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The goalkeeper has agreed a two-year deal, with the Clarets having the option to extend the deal by 12 months.
Speaking about the move, she said: “It feels really good to be here.
“It’s nice to finally get it over the line and be here with the girls, and I’m really looking forward to the new season.
“I had a chat with the staff and the manager, and everything that they said aligns with what I want to do moving forwards.
“The more we talked, it felt like the right time to come to Burnley and push on with them in the Championship.”

Born and raised in Cookstown in Northern Ireland, Burns spent the formative years of her career with Cookstown Youth and Mid-Ulster Ladies.
Then came three years in America on a scholarship at Carson-Newman University, where she helped the Eagles to their first ever national championship game.
The shot stopper has also spent time with BK Hacken in Sweden and Calgary Wild in Canada.
Her English pyramid experience has come with Reading in the Barclays Women’s Super League and Bristol City of the BWSL2, and it was the latter that she was signed to until May 2026.
Moreover, the 29-year-old has proudly made 64 appearances and counting for the Northern Ireland Senior team and played in all three of their 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro group stage matches.
She now joins Burnley’s goalkeepers’ union, who are still on a high from keeping 26 clean sheets in their 33 matches last season.
