Hannibal was more than relieved to bag his first Burnley goal on Friday night, as the Tunisian midfielder put in a scintillating performance against Norwich City at Turf Moor which saw the Clarets claim a deserved three points.

Scott Parker's side dominated from the off and took the lead through Hannibal's well-taken finish after latching onto Josh Cullen's pass, before Jaidon Anthony struck home the second goal of the night shortly after.

Speaking post-match, Hannibal confessed it had been a long time coming for his first goal in Claret & Blue, but admitted he could have had more than one goal to his name in the victory.

The 22-year-old said: "I'm very happy! What a goal, what a touch and what a pass from Josh. I'm very, very happy tonight after this.

"It's been a long time coming and hopefully now I can add a little bit more to the goals until the end of the season."

Hannibal added: "I could have had more goals in this game as well, but yeah I keep telling you, I am very happy, but we need to carry on now and keep going like this to stay on top and be successful."

Burnley controlled the game from the first whistle, after creating an opportunity within the first 30 seconds and Hannibal paid a mention to the coaching staff for the gameplan and tactics for the game.

"I think we worked very well with the coaches this week and we didn't have too much time to prepare the game, but we did really good and the first half was really strong, you could see it.

"All the boys were on fire and the pressing, the opportunities that we had on the ball, everything was sharp and yeah, when the first half is that high in intensity, sometimes it's a bit hard to keep it like this in the second half.

"But I think we managed the final minutes good to keep the win and hopefully we keep going like this."

Hannibal had a final message for the supporters ahead of the weekend and going into the final few weeks of the 2024/25 campaign.

"We won so we go home happy tonight, we enjoy the weekend. I hope the fans go home happy as well and enjoy the weather at the moment, it's very hot, it's very sunny, put some sun cream on and enjoy the weekend."
