Young midfielder heads to Leek Town for month

Burnley Football Club can confirm that midfielder Will Hugill has joined Leek Town on a month-long youth loan which will run until November 6.
Harrogate-born, Hugill is a lifelong Clarets fan and initially joined the academy back in July 2020 on a two-year scholarship.
Extending that scholarship by a further year as he moved up permanently into the U21s setup this summer, the 18-year-old was a key figure for Burnley’s youth team last term.
He made 18 league appearances at U18 level, scoring twice, and also netted in the FA Youth Cup against Luton Town.
And after making seven appearances at the start of this campaign for the U21s, Hugill will now head to Harrison Park with Leek in Division One East of the Northern Premier League.
The youngster is also eligible for the Blues’ Isuzu FA Trophy campaign, so could make his debut against Atherton Collieries this weekend.
