Summer signing Wayne Hennessey has been included in Wales’ squad for their up-coming international triple header.
Hennessey – his country’s most capped goalkeeper with 96 international appearances to his name – is included in a 27-man party named by acting manager Robert Page.
Wales play a friendly in Finland on Wednesday, 1 September before World Cup qualifiers in Belarus on 5 September and at home to Estonia in Cardiff on 8 September.
The Welsh are currently sitting third in Group E with one win from two games.
Hennessey’s 96 caps put the Clarets’ goalkeeper, 34, level with Gareth Bale and just six away from Wales’ record appearance-maker Chris Gunter.
Burnley keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has made an outstanding start to his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday, is included in Northern Ireland’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Switzerland and a friendly against Estonia.
Peacock-Farrell has kept five successive clean sheets since joining the Owls on a season-long loan to help record Wednesday’s longest run of shut-outs since the end of the 1991/92 season.
And the Clarets could make it a notable international hat-trick if current number-one Nick Pope returns to the England fold following injury when Gareth Southgate names his squad on Thursday for World Cup qualifying ties against Hungary, Andorra and Poland.
