Nathan Tella continued his fine goal scoring form on Saturday afternoon, securing his first senior hat-trick in Burnley's win over Preston North End.
The result saw the home side extend their Championship winning run to 10 in a row and whilst pleased with his goals, the forward said the win was testament to the hard work and efforts of the whole squad.
Having said last week that he didn't see himself as a goal scorer, when asked about his first senior hat-trick, Tella added: "It’s good! Obviously, it’s nice to prove myself wrong again but more importantly for the team we were able to get the result, we were able to play well and keep a clean sheet, and probably play one of the best games I felt, as team.
“I think everything we did with the ball, without the ball as well, our reactions and our movement with and without the ball was really good today so it was nice to pick up the points.”

The Clarets number 23 scored a brace in Tuesday night's win against Ipswich Town and was happy to contribute to the team's success again today.
“It’s weird! I don’t want to say I always expect to score but when you score in the game before, you always have a little bit of an extra push that you want to score in the next game and the fact I was able to score a header was nice and then I think the second goal was probably my favourite goal this season. When I broke through with Barnsey I was just like I’m going to hit this as hard as I can and luckily and thankfully it managed to go in.”
With his performance securing him the match ball, when asked would he be displaying it proudly at home he added: "I’m going to play with it a bit! No, I will frame it just not yet. I just want to relive the moment for a bit and focus on Tuesday.”
There's little time to rest for the Clarets, who are back at home on Tuesday night with a visit from sixth place Watford.

“I think me personally I’m feeling good but again as a team it’s great to have a good result today to give us even more belief going into the game on Tuesday.
“That’s our tenth win in a row, and I heard something about it being a record and obviously we all want to break as many records as we can but playing football the right way and doing all the right things. We’re all looking forward to the game but now it’s just about recovering well and going in and being the best that we can be.”
The win ensured the Turf Moor home crowd were sent home happy and while the celebrations continued in the dressing room, Tella added the squad were fully focused on the games to come.
“Yeah, it was nice. Again, as a team though we know we can’t get too caught up in the celebrations because the jobs not finished, the job’s not done, so we’ve got to go out and do what we did today again on Tuesday.”
