Burnley's second summer signing Quilindschy Hartman couldn't take the smile off his face or hide his excitement when discussing his move to Burnley, after joining the Club on Thursday.

The 23-year-old left-back put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal this week, joining from Eredivisie side Feyenoord, and the defender admitted he was 'ready for something new' after leaving the club he spent the last 18 years with.

Speaking to Clarets+ in his first interview after signing, Hartman said: "I was at Feyenoord since I was five-years-old, I had some wonderful years over there but I felt like I was ready for something new and something bigger.

"I felt like there is nothing bigger than the Premier League and it's my first time moving to a new country and city, it's going to be really exciting, I am really looking forward to it."

The Clarets' fixtures for the 2025/26 campaign were revealed last week and Hartman confessed he's looking forward to it now being a 'reality' for him, after previously playing with Premier League teams and venues on PlayStation.

"When I saw the schedule I had a really big smile on my face, the same as now, because it feels like reality now.

"I have played with all these teams on the PlayStation, but I'm now going to be there for real and playing in these stadiums."

The left-back arrives at Turf Moor with over 130 senior games already to his name in the Eredivisie, UEFA Champions League and for the Netherlands and Hartman gave the Burnley supporters an insight on what to expect from him on the pitch.

"I'm quite an aggressive player, I like to defend and run for the ball. I would say I am pretty fast as well and attacking minded when I get the ball", said Hartman.

"I like to have the ball at my feet and pick out passes into the attack and I will always work hard for the team, give my all and run as hard as I can."
