The Club can confirm that Scott Parker's men will host Serie A opposition S.S Lazio in a pre-season friendly at Turf Moor on Saturday 9th August at 3pm.
In what is a first between a Serie A and Premier League club, the game will be part of a double header with Burnley FC Women taking on Lazio Women on the same day, with details on the venue and tickets to be released in due course.
The pre-season opponents have a rich history in the top-tier of Italian football. The side were Italian champions in 1974 and 2000, have won the Coppa Italia seven times, the Supercoppa Italiana five times, and both the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
After securing a seventh-placed finish in Serie A last season, Lazio welcomed back Head Coach Maurizio Sarri earlier this month ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The friendly will be the final fixture before the Clarets kick-off their Premier League campaign away to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 16th August.
