Burnley Football Club can confirm that midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson has joined Saudi Pro-League side Al-Orobah for an undisclosed fee.
After joining the Club in 2016 from Charlton Athletic, the 33-year-old has been an integral figure within the Clarets’ dressing room over the past eight seasons at Turf Moor.
Saturday saw Gudmundsson play his 200th league game for the Clarets and the Icelandic midfielder signed off in style, after curling home the fifth goal of the game in his final match for the Club.
Following over 225 appearances, UEFA Europa League qualification, two top-10 Premier League finishes and a Championship league title, ‘JBG’ will always remain a fan favourite.
Burnley would like to thank Johann for his contribution and commitment over the years and wish him all the best in the future.
