An action-packed first day of the Dude Perfect International Youth Cup has come to an end, with goals, celebrations and fun high on the agenda at Burnley Training Centre.

The 16 matches produced 58 goals and six clean sheets, with attack the order of the day in Lancashire.

Each of the 16 teams involved have played two of their three group matches, with Valencia and Hertha Berlin being the only two sides to have taken their maximum of six points.

Valencia sit top of Group A, followed by AC Milan and Lech Poznan with three points apiece.

Belgian outfit Genk and Portuguese team SC Braga both have four points at the top of Group B, where a big victory for Borussia Dortmund all-but condemned Danish side Kolding to the Plate bracket of the competition.

Our young Clarets sit 2nd in Group C on goal difference, with their opening match against Chelsea finishing 2-2 thanks to goals from Michael Levendis and Vonn Masara.

Levendis was on target again in a 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen, alongside further strikes from Abraham Barrie and Obed Mensah.

Chelsea are top of our group, leaving FC Dallas and Werder Bremen with work to do on Saturday morning.

Finally, Berlin top Group D thanks to victories over FC Zurich and Sevilla.

A late equaliser against FC Zurich took Celtic’s points tally to four, leaving Sevilla bottom of the pile and in need of a result tomorrow to progress.

Supporters are welcome to attend either of the remaining two days for free, with healthy crowds expected throughout.

Saturday’s fixtures start at the earlier time of 10am, and site access is permitted by 9am.
