Midfielder discusses life so far with the Clarets

After signing for the Clarets on deadline day of the summer transfer window, Portuguese midfielder Florentino admits it was a 'dream' to play in England and the Premier League and has more than enjoyed his first month in Lancashire.

The 26-year-old arrived on a season-long loan deal from Benfica in September and having only played in Portugal, Spain and France prior to making the move, Florentino is still adapting to life at Burnley, but says he and his family are loving every minute.

Speaking to Clarets+ ahead of the trip to Aston Villa this weekend, Florentino smiled: "I'm feeling very good to be here. I have said a few times times before, it's a dream to play in England, play in the Premier League and play for this club.

"Everything is going very well so far, I'm enjoying it a lot because I have very good teammates, who always ask me if I need anything or if they can help me and my family.

"When I am comfortable off the pitch, I will be comfortable on the pitch and that's the most important thing for me."

The midfielder continued: "It's strange because I am always used to playing in hot weather, but I think that is one thing I will get used to and the weather is one thing we cannot control, we can only control things just on the pitch.

"There are a lot of good things in the city you can do, in Manchester and in Burnley. My family are also liking it a lot, so we are all very happy to be here."

Next up for the Clarets is a trip to Villa Park and 'Tino' is expecting a difficult test against Unai Emery's side, but is keen to return with three points.

"I'm expecting a really tough game, they are playing at home and teams that play at home can always be more dangerous.

"But we are confident, because we know we will be compact, will attack in the right moment and stick with the ball in the right moment. It will be a good game, one we want to take points from."

There will be some training as well as downtime for the Clarets that are not on international duty next week and Florentino is looking forward to spending some time with family at home and exploring England.

"I would have maybe gone to Portugal, but I was thinking I will stay here in England and get used to more things, stay at home with the family and maybe go visit another city too."
