U21s schedule confirmed for 2023
There have been changes to the U21s fixture list for the second half of the 2022/23 season, with changes in venues & dates.
The Clarets youngsters will now start the New Year at the Burnley Training Centre against Sheffield Wednesday on Monday 9th January (2pm KO). That Professional Development League fixture has switched venues from the County Ground in Leyland due to fixture clashes.
Elsewhere, the Premier League Cup clash against Swansea City - which was postponed earlier this month due to a waterlogged pitch at Victory Park - has now been moved to the County Ground. It will take place on Friday 13th January with a 2pm kick-off.
Please note that the last of the six Premier League Cup group games, away at Arsenal, has already been confirmed for Wednesday 18th January at Boreham Wood FC’s Meadow Park (7pm KO).
The last change to the U21s schedule in the first month of the year is the Professional Development League meeting with Crewe Alexandra at the County Ground. Initially scheduled for Monday 23rd January, it has been pushed back 24 hours and will now be played on Tuesday 24th January (2pm KO).
Still to be confirmed is the Quarter-Final tie against Blackpool in the Lancashire Senior Cup. Details of this will be communicated as soon as possible.
