Friendlies added for both sides with league games moved in run up to end of season

There have been numerous tweaks to the fixture lists of both the U18s & U21s as they approach the end of the 2022/23 campaign, with friendlies added & league games moved.

Both sides this week will host an XI from American outfit Cornell University at the Burnley Training Centre. Tony Philliskirk’s youth team will welcome them on Tuesday (4th April, 1pm KO) while the U21s will play hosts on Thursday (6th April, 11am KO).

Then, next Tuesday – 11th April -, the U21s will then play another friendly against Stockport County at Edgeley Park (7pm KO).

And in a last tweak to their schedule, the U21s trip to Colchester United later this month in the Professional Development League has been pushed back by 24 hours.

They will now visit the JobServe Community Stadium on Monday 24th April (7pm KO).

With a semi-final tie still to be confirmed in the Lancashire Senior Cup, here’s how the remainder of their campaign shapes up including this afternoon’s game at Millwall:

· MON 3 APR - Millwall (A – 1.30pm), Millwall Training Ground

· THURS 6 APR – Cornell University (H – 11am – Friendly), Burnley Training Centre

· TUE 11 APR – Stockport County (A – 7pm – Friendly), Edgeley Park

· MON 17 APR - Bristol City (H - 2pm), Lancashire FA County Ground

· MON 24 APR - Colchester United (A -7pm), JobServe Community Stadium

· MON 1 MAY - Swansea City (H - 2pm), Lancashire FA County Ground

· TUE 9 MAY - Watford (A - 1pm), Vicarage Road Stadium

Elsewhere, in addition to their friendly this week against Cornell University, the youth team have now had their home game against Birmingham City re-arranged in the U18 Professional Development League.

The Blues’ trip to the Burnley Training Centre was postponed last month due to heavy snowfall, and they now become the Young Clarets’ last opponents of the season on Friday 5th May.

Only a Clarets Cup quarter-final at home against Sheffield United is to be arranged now for Philliskirk’s side, so here’s how the remainder of their season looks at present:
