Burnley’s February fixture list can now be confirmed with the televised details of the three outstanding Premier League fixtures.
The games at home to Brighton and Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion, and the trip to Crystal Palace all had provisional 3pm kick offs on the respective Saturdays.
Those slots remain unchanged, leaving the Clarets’ schedule next month reading as follows:
Wed, Feb 3: Manchester City H (6pm on BT Sport)
Sat, Feb 6: Brighton H (3pm on Sky Sports)
Tue, Feb 9: Bournemouth H (FA Cup 5, 5.30pm on BT Sport)
Sat, Feb 13: Crystal Palace A (3pm on Sky Sports)
Sat, Feb 20: WBA H (3pm on Sky Sports)
Sun, Feb 28, Tottenham A (2pm on Sky Sports)
Meanwhile, effective from February 6, the Premier League and Football Association are to introduce additional permanent concussion substitutions trials, across the Premier League, Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship and Emirates FA Cup (from the Fifth Round).
With player welfare the priority, the protocols will allow a maximum of two concussion substitutes to be used per team, with the opposition side able to use the equivalent number. The additional concussion substitutions may be made regardless of the number of substitutions a team has made already.
The trial is a result of the IFAB’s consultation with stakeholders and recommendations from their concussion expert group to allow additional substitutions for players with actual or suspected concussion.
