In an end-to-end Emirates FA Cup encounter at Portman Road, Burnley were unable to secure their spot in the FA Cup fifth round following a 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town.
There were chances from both sides throughout the cup tie to win the game, but both defences stood strong to ensure a replay was on the cards next month.
The results sees the Clarets extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and just one defeat in 12 in all competitions.
Clarets chief Vincent Kompany made seven changes from the side that beat West Brom last week.
Scott Twine was handed his first start for the Clarets, with recent signing Ameen Al-Dakhil given his debut partnering Jordan Beyer in the centre of defence.
Skipper Jack Cork sat in central midfield with Samuel Bastien whilst Darko Churlinov and Nathan Tella operated the flanks behind Jay Rodriguez in attack.
Wednesday’s signing Lyle Foster was named amongst the substitutes alongside fellow new arrival Hjalmar Ekdal.
First Half
Ipswich started on the front foot and had an opportunity to take the lead just two minutes in, as an unmarked George Hirst guided Kayden Jackson’s low cross just wide of the post.
The momentum was certainly with the hosts in the opening stages as Kieran McKenna’s side came close once again, this time Marcus Harness tried his luck from range but his strike bounced off the crossbar.
Burnley settled into the tie after a cagey start and had their first effort towards goal midway through the first half when Rodriguez weaved into the area and saw his effort sail over the bar.
Twine was next up to go for goal but his free-kick from 25-yards out was straight at Vaclav Hladky between the sticks for Town.
Jackson then saw his attempted cross into the area divert towards the goal forcing Peacock-Farrell to tip it just over the bar for a corner.
With just three minutes until the break as the Tractor Boys searched for the opener, Al-Dakhil timed a challenge to perfection after denying Hirst the chance to bring the ball down and fire towards goal inside the box.
Second Half
The Clarets started bright in the second half and Tella came close to breaking the deadlock as his fierce drive was palmed over for a corner by Hladky.
Minutes later the Czech goalkeeper was called into action again, this time pushing away Rodriguez’s half-volley from inside the area.
Just as Twine fired a cutback from Churlinov inches wide of the goal, Kompany turned to his bench and made a triple substitution which saw Bastien, Twine and Churlinov make way for Josh Cullen, Josh Brownhill and Anass Zaroury.
Then with just over 20 minutes to go and both sides still pushing for the opening goal in an end-to-end encounter, Foster was introduced for his Clarets debut coming on for Rodriguez.
The visitors were carrying the momentum in the latter stages of the clash and looked to have their winner in the 75th minute, but Zaroury's goal-bound effort was blocked well by the legs of Edmundson.
