Defender reflects on promotion back to the Premier League

Maxime Estève claimed that winning promotion back to the Premier League with the win over Sheffield United on Monday was 'one of the best days of his life'.

Speaking after the win over the Blades at Turf Moor, Estève reflected on a moment where he told Chairman Alan Pace after the last game of last season, that the Clarets would be back.

Speaking post-match in an emotional interview, the young defender said: "This really is one of the best days of my life. I remember after the last game of last season against Nottingham Forest, I said this is a Premier League club and we will go back up next season.

"We are now there. It's unbelievable, I am so proud of the dressing room and of everyone at the Club, it's an amazing day for Burnley."

The 22-year-old, who more than understands what Burnley FC means to this town, was also keen to pay a thank you to the fans for their magnificent support throughout the campaign.

"I just think about the whole team, everyone works hard every single day and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has supported us, they are part of this journey too.

"We are a Premier League Club and that's the case, the town is amazing and this football club means so much to everyone in the town, I am just so proud of everyone in Burnley."
