Manager Sean Dyche knows the challenge that will await Burnley at Arsenal on Sunday, but he is looking forward to seeing his side return to action.
The Clarets visit the Emirates Stadium to take on Mikel Arteta’s Gunners for their first game in 15-days, 2pm kick-off.
Following two recent postponements against Leicester City and Watford respectively, Dyche is pleased to see the squad ready to compete again for only the second time in the Premier League in 2022 but expects a tough encounter in the Capital.
Dyche said: “Arsenal have come a long way from a tough start, and they are in a better place than earlier on this season with what the manager is trying to get them to do, and they’ve worked to get in that better place.
“I’m sure that the manager is continually working to push them harder. It’s always a tough game going to Arsenal, as is any game in the Premier League, but we’ll take on the challenge.
“We have to look at the realities of the players that are there. They have got some very good players and they’ve changed the way that they have been playing, with the urgency and the edge as the season has come on.
“Everyone has challenges across the Premier League, they are no different, but they have got some very good players.
“It’s been difficult but it’s what it is. Various clubs have been going through the ups and downs of it and hopefully we’ve come through our spell but it’s the reality of the industry.
“We’re getting back to where the group wants to be, so we should be fine.”
Dyche also provided an update on team news ahead of this weekend’s trip to North London.
The boss added: “We’ve got a few that are beginning to come back, we’re looking a bit healthier in different ways following Covid-19 and injuries.
“Barnesy (Ashley Barnes) is still getting over his injury but he’s beginning to get on the grass with us for a bit of time, and we are seeing him at least around the group but he’s not ready yet obviously. Charlie Taylor is touch and go; he got a knock on his foot last weekend in a training game.
“Erik Pieters is back in the building after Covid-19, Johann (Berg Gudmundsson) is back with the group, Dwight (McNeill) and Dale Stephens are back, Connor (Roberts) is okay, and it’s been quite a long list with Covid and injuries, and Maxwel (Cornet) is still away on international duty.
