Midfielder looks ahead to Saturday's clash with Town

Josh Cullen is hoping the Turf Moor crowd can play their part again on Saturday as the Clarets entertain Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

It's set to be another near sell-out crowd when the Terriers come to Burnley as Vincent Kompany's side look to extend their unbeaten league run to 14 matches.

Speaking ahead of the game, Cullen highlighted the importance of the home advantage and the eagerness to return to Turf Moor.

The Irish midfielder said: “It’s always nice to get back home, after two difficult away trips in quick succession.

“It was a tough challenge for us to play those two back-to-back in the space of four days, but we’re all looking forward to being back at home and hopefully get back to winning ways.

“The fans have been brilliant for us all season so to know there will be another big crowd there this Saturday is huge and we’re thankful for them.

“They push us over the line when we need them and they really are our 12th man, so hopefully we can put in a good performance for them.”

Neil Warnock took over Huddersfield last week and won his first game in charge as the Yorkshire side beat Birmingham City 2-1 at the John Smith's Stadium.

Cullen is expecting the Terriers to pose a difficult test on the weekend and knows the Clarets will need to be at their best to come away with a victory.

“I think it’s going to be really tough for us as every game is in this league and we certainly won’t be taking anyone lightly.

“Going into Saturday we know it will be a tough test and with a new manager which can sometimes give teams the lift they need.

“They won at the weekend too so they will have a bit of momentum behind them and with their position in the table they will be fighting and doing all they can to get a result.

“We need to be right at it and on our game and make sure we are ready for a challenging afternoon.”
