Jack Cork was pleased the Clarets pulled together to secure three points against Norwich City on Tuesday evening.
Following the comeback win at Sunderland over the weekend, the midfielder was full of praise for his teammates against what was tough opposition at Turf Moor.
Cork on the win:
“Yeah, good. Really, really happy for the lads. All the fans and everyone involved at the football club. It’s a busy period and we’ve started it really well. The win against Sunderland, coming from behind, and a solid win today [against Norwich]. There’s some good games coming up to look forward to now.”
Cork on Norwich City:
“Yeah, it’s tough. I mean, you look at people like Pukki and Sargent who are proven in this league and the Premier League and it’s always that threat. You can have as many boys as you want but you know if there’s something in the box or a half chance then they can take it. So, it’s always that in the back of your mind. We had a lot of control of the ball today but you still sort of think, especially in the last ten minutes, what could happen. So it can get a little bit nervy, but we controlled the game and I think deserved to win.”
Cork on being a leader in the group:
“I think it falls to all the older players in this football club to look after the younger lads. We’ve got so much experience. Different clubs, different styles of football. Hopefully they can look at us and we can set a good example for them and show from our performances and what we do on the pitch rather than shouting and lecturing that this is the way we have to do things. It’s a big responsibility for the older lads here to show them how to behave and respect the football club.”
