Defender Nathan Collins spoke to the media this morning looking ahead to this weekend’s trip to Brentford.
The centre-back, who has made 11 appearances for the Clarets’ so far this season, discussed Saturday’s meeting with the Bees, his recent run of games and the importance of team spirit.
Collins on bouncing back from defeat last time out:
“I learnt a lot [from Chelsea]. We went over the game and I looked at clips. It’s not nice, but that’s what I need. I have to learn from my mistakes more than the things that I do well. Looking back on it, it’s only going to help me. We have to start again and come out like we did in the first half.
“The dressing room was really annoyed, but we have come back in this week and brushed it aside. We know how big this game on Saturday is so we don’t want to dwell on anything, and we’re moving onto bigger things now.”

Collins on the Bees test:
“It’s massive, as always, especially with the place that we’re in, but I think that we’re ready. We know the challenge upon us, and we know what we have to do.
“Every game in the Premier League is a must-win, especially at this stage. Saturday is a must-win game, and we all know that.
“We need to be at our best with a 10/10 performance and at our best, I think that we can get a result against anybody. We need to be on it, and we’ll make sure that we’re ready.
“Every game in the Premier League is a must-win, especially at this stage. Saturday is a must-win game, and we all know that. We have the mentality that we can go anywhere and nick a result, and that’s a good mentality to have.”
Collins on the team spirit amongst the squad:
“I heard a little bit before I came in, but when I came in, I saw it straight away. All of the lads are such a tight-knit group. Everyone gets on really well and everyone’s there for each other, it’s something that I noticed straight away.
“We’ll back each other till the end. That’s something that is unbelievable to have, especially considering the stage and place that we’re at. Not a lot of teams have that, so if we can continue with it, then I think that we have a bigger chance.”

Collins on learning from those around him:
“Ben [Mee] and Tarky have been top class. They’ve done everything that they can to help me. We push each other all the time in training, so they’ve been really good for me. They always give me little pointers going over games and I show them things too.
“I like to seek advice. I’m still young and I’ve played a lot of football, but those two have played a lot more than me, so obviously I take advice off them. It’s a really good thing to have between us. They’re two top class lads and it doesn’t matter who I’m playing beside.
“The gaffer has also helped me a lot in training and there’s really good, experienced pros in the team who want to help everyone. I’m taking pointers off everyone so it’s good.”
