Burnley Football Club can confirm that an ongoing internal and external discussion concerning antisemitic comments made by former Chairman Bob Lord remains under review. This is being undertaken alongside The Football Association, Kick it Out and other authorities and personnel.
Antisemitism is a blight on our society and the Club takes any form of racism, bigotry or hate crimes extremely seriously. Antisemitism must be understood for what it is – an attack on the identity of people who live, contribute, and are valued in our society. Burnley Football Club and its commitment to tackling all form of discrimination as defined by the Equality Act 2010 has been built upon the solid work of UK legislation and standards as set by the Premier League, Football Association and Kick it Out. It is vitally important to Burnley Football Club to keep an open dialogue with the local and wider Jewish community, and we urge anyone who has experienced or been impacted by antisemitism in football to report it directly to Kick it Out using their online reporting form or via the dedicated Kick It Out reporting app. We will provide further update on the result and recommendations of the investigation following its completion.
