Burnley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Spain U18 international Lluc Castell, who joins the Club on a permanent deal from RCD Espanyol.
The 19-year-old exciting winger has penned a three-year deal at Turf Moor and becomes the first signing of the 2026 summer transfer window.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Castell began his early football days in the academy of Gimnàstic de Tarragona, where he spent four years, before joining Espanyol's set-up in 2022.
The young forward quickly progressed within the Spanish club's youth team, and after representing Spain at the U17 European Championships, Castell was rewarded with a professional contract in April 2024 and went on to feature over 60 times for Espanyol B across the last two campaigns, scoring 11 goals.
Castell's development at the La Liga side took another huge step towards the end of last season, after training with the Espanyol first team for the final couple months of the season, the winger then made his first team debut in a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in May.
