Burnley FC Women are delighted to confirm the signing of Brenna McPartlan from Sunderland AFC.
The midfielder becomes the Claret Women’s fifth signing of the summer and joins up ahead of the season opener against Liverpool Feds on Sunday – 20th August.
McPartlan began her youth career in the Blackburn Rovers Centre of Excellence before moving onto Liverpool, and then Manchester City, where she captained the Citizens to the WSL Development League title and FA WSL Development League Cup success.
The 23-year-old then moved to the USA, signing for South Alabama Jaguars before joining Louisiana State University Tigers.
After spending two years with the Tigers, she returned to the UK with Sunderland and also has experience internationally, with Northern Ireland, at U17 and U19 level.
Upon joining Rebecca Sawiuk’s side, McPartlan said: “I'm really excited to join Burnley and be part of a club with great ambitions and goals.
"I can't wait for the season to start and I'm looking forward to hopefully having a very successful season."
Manager Sawiuk added: "I am delighted Brenna has decided to join us, she arrives with a wealth of experience having played in the Championship, America and internationally.
"She is bright, intelligent and brave in possession of the ball and she has settled into our group really well.
"She has very high standards and I know she will do really well this season in a Burnley shirt."
