Tuesday morning saw the Club host an open training session at the Burnley FC training ground with 102 supporters getting to watch the first-team squad put through their paces.
Vincent Kompany and his backroom staff welcomed 21 Business Club+ members along with 81 other Clarets fans pitchside, all of whom got to see the side in person for the first time since the Belgian took charge last month.
After the session had been completed, players and staff all posed for pictures with the supporters, stopped to chat, and signed autographs.
Midfielder Jack Cork was amongst those involved, and was pleased to see the fans face to face. He said: “It’s been a tough few years and things like this make fans happy, make them feel involved in the Football Club.
“In a time when it’s not been all that great for a lot of people, things like this can mean a lot to certain people. Hopefully we can do more of it and we all hope the fans here have enjoyed it because we enjoyed having them down.
“It’s nice for them to be able to come down and see what we’re doing for themselves. They can see how hard we’re working and see what we’re putting into sessions as well as getting a brief idea of what we’re trying to do next season.
“It’s great to have them here and great to have them supporting the club. It’s been a nice morning.”
Russell Ball, Burnley’s Head of Match Day Operations, was one of the driving forces in setting the open training session up. He added, “We enjoyed a fantastic day at the training ground under the watchful eye of Vincent Kompany.
"The selected fans were from the Business Club, Clarets View, The Community, Foundation members, and loyal season ticket holders who had attended all home games last season.
"Five of our six new signings so far were on show, and the players all interacted with the watching fans after training, which is exactly what we wanted.
"One excited supporter said it was like their 'Christmas coming in July', and we hope all who attended feel the same way."
