Jacob Bruun Larsen was on target as the Clarets drew 1-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season training game in the Algarve on Saturday.
Burnley named almost entirely different elevens for each half, providing minutes to the majority of the squad.
In a tight first half, the Clarets went close to opening the scoring in the 19th minute. Jaydon Banel’s close range shot was parried at the second attempt by Sam Johnstone in the Wolves goal, following fine build-up play involving Kyle Walker and Luca Koleosho.
The deadlock was eventually broken five minutes before the break, with Jorgen Strand Larsen finishing for Wolves from close range.
As expected, Burnley made wholesale changes at half-time, and the Clarets were level on 65 minutes, when Quilindschy Hartman’s header at the far post was half-volleyed home by Bruun Larsen.
And that’s how it finished, with honours ending even, as the Clarets head back to the UK following a productive week in the Portuguese sunshine.
