Burnley Football Club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Jackie Bachteler to the Club's coaching staff.

The arrival of the vastly-experienced American - a former professional player turned coach, who has been coaching in both the United States and Europe for the last decade - represents a significant coup for the Club, strengthening its commitment to creating a high-performance environment where players and staff from all backgrounds can thrive.

In her new role, Bachteler will work initially across the Men's Academy programme and collaborate closely with Head of Women’s Football, Lola Ogunbote, to support the continued development of Burnley Women as they evolve as a professional set-up. Her experience within both men’s and women’s pathways reinforces the club’s ambition to provide equitable opportunities across the game.

Burnley FC Chairman, Alan Pace, welcomed the appointment, commenting: “Jackie's appointment is a further statement of intent from the Club, as we continue to make great strides at all levels across the football department.

“She brings extensive knowledge and a unique global perspective of the game, the people and how to develop and connect both.

“Her breadth of coaching experience and her ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds will be invaluable as we continue to build a positive, supportive culture across all programmes.”

Bachteler played professionally in Europe for six years before moving into coaching roles in Sweden, Cyprus and the United States, most recently serving as Assistant Coach at San Diego Wave in the NWSL.

She is excited about continuing her coaching career in the UK with Burnley, adding: "This is a really exciting opportunity for me.

"I’m passionate about developing players in an inclusive environment where everyone is supported to reach their potential. I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued progress of both the Academy and the women’s programme at Burnley.”
