07/04/2018 - Watford 1 - 2 Burnley (Vicarage Road)

Burnley came from behind in fine fashion to claim all three points on the road, with two goals in three minutes from Sam Vokes and Jack Cork securing a win over the Hornets at Vicarage Road.

Watford's Roberto Pereyra opened the scoring just after the hour mark, before substitute Vokes turned home the equaliser just 20 seconds after coming onto the pitch.

The Clarets then took the lead just two minutes later when Cork headed home the winning goal in front of the travelling supporters to seal the victory.

Despite the away side starting bright and finding the back of the net within just a couple of minutes through Chris Wood's offside effort, Watford responded and applied the pressure on Sean Dyche's men.

Nick Pope was forced into action to keep out the lively Pereyra on two occasions within a few minutes. First pushing his low driven effort wide of the post, before then tipping his fierce hit over the crossbar.

After a quiet but one-sided first half from the hosts, Watford's opener then arrived 16 minutes into the second-half, as Will Hughes weaved into the area and saw his deflected effort fall into the path of Pereyra to sweep home into the bottom corner.

However, that lead lasted just nine minutes, as the Clarets responded to going a goal down through Vokes, who had only been on the pitch 20 seconds.

Ashley Westwood's long free-kick into the area was met by the Welsh forward and he coolly steered home past Karnezis to draw the scores level on the 70th minute.

Three minutes later Burnley were then ahead, as another Westwood free-kick was met at the back-post by Kevin Long, who headed it back across the face of goal for Cork to plant a header over the line and put the away side in front.
