Burnley Football Club Chairman Alan Pace has kindly donated 1,000 tickets to Burnley FC in the Community ahead of Saturday’s home game against Watford at Turf Moor. The tickets will be distributed to schools across our local area with a donation of £1 per-ticket. Money raised will go to ELHT&Me, the charity of East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. ELHT&Me support to staff and patients of the five hospitals that make up East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which are Burnley General Teaching Hospitals, Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Accrington Victoria, Clitheroe, and Pendle Community Hospitals.
This special fixture will recognise the achievements of captain Ben Mee who has led by example on and off the pitch during his 10 years at the Club. Mee arrived at Burnley permanently from Manchester City in 2012 and has since enjoyed two promotions to the Premier League, won one Sky Bet Championship divisional title, represented the Club in the UEFA Europa League, as well as making over 300 appearances in a memorable decade.
Sean Dyche’s men take on Roy Hodgson’s Hornets in the only Premier League clash of the weekend, so it's one not to be missed. It is a fantastic opportunity to cheer on the Clarets and back the lads in an important match, for any schools taking up the ticket offer while supporting a local charity.
BFCitC CEO, Dr Sara Ward, said: “We are very appreciative of the Chairman donating 1,000 tickets to our local community and local schools. It’s very important for us as a club to connect to our community and with the £1 ticket donation going towards a fantastic cause.”
