Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing Brooke Cairns, who becomes the latest player to join our women’s team ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Comfortable in an attacking midfield role or slightly deeper, Cairns follows Mel Lawley, Maddie Robinson and Millie Chandarana in putting pen to paper.
“I am really excited to be here, and I am looking forward to being part of the journey,” she said.
“Being a young player I am always looking to grow and develop, and I feel like this is the right club and culture where I can do so.
“I can’t wait for the season to start and I think collectively as a group we are all striving for promotion."

Cairns came through the youth systems at Liverpool and Everton before signing with West Ham United, where she made her Women’s Super League debut in 2021.
While at the Hammers she gained further experience during loan spells at Hashtag United and Ipswich Town.
In 2024 the Liverpudlian joined Wrexham and made an immediate impact, featuring 37 times in all competitions.
Her Dragons debut came in a 2-2 draw with Cardiff Met, and Cairns opened her Wrexham account with a strike against Aberystwyth in February 2024.
She scored six goals in total and became a key presence in the Welsh side’s midfield with her energy, control, and attacking contributions.
A former England youth international, Cairns brings proven pedigree and a high-level footballing background to Burnley’s midfield.
