Josh Brownhill has never reached double figures for goals scored in a season, but with the Clarets skipper currently just a goal away from reaching 10, the 29-year-old is aiming to do just that this campaign.
The midfielder has popped up with some crucial goals this season, including a late winner against this weekend's opponents Portsmouth back in September at Turf Moor, alongside match-winning strikes against Plymouth Argyle, Norwich City and Watford.
Speaking to Clarets+ ahead of the trip to Fratton Park, Brownhill said: "It would be huge, it's something I have set my sights on for a while now. Especially last time in the Championship I just ended up missing out on getting over the line with double figures.
"To reach the double figure mark would be massive for me personally, obviously getting the wins and three points are most important, but if I can help and pop up with a few goals then even better."
Brownhill continued: "Being the captain and being the leader, I want to provide as many goals as I can for the team and important ones as well. Whether it be Portsmouth at home where it was late on, or Norwich and Sheffield United away, where they felt like massive goals to get us big results.
"There's still a long way to go in the season, so hopefully I can reach the milestone and help the team out with more goals to get the wins that we need."

Reaching that achievement is not the only potential upcoming milestone for the skipper, with Brownhill only six matches away from playing 200 games for the Clarets.
After signing for the Club in January 2020 and making his debut against AFC Bournemouth, the former Bristol City man has been a key figure on and off the pitch during his six seasons.
On the opportunity of reaching the milestone, Brownhill said: "It would be incredible. Even making my debut five years ago, I was so proud and playing for this Club means a lot to me.
"To go on and do what I have done, leading the lads out, promotion, playing in the Premier League and now playing nearly 200 games, it's massive for me.
"My family know what this means to me and what Burnley Football Club means to me, so hopefully I can get to that mark. It would be special."

On this weekend's meeting with Portsmouth, Brownhill believes his side will face a difficult test at Fratton Park but hopes the Clarets can be at their best to come away with a result.
After scoring a 94th minute winner in the reverse fixture, he added: "Hopefully, it's not as late this time, but if it has to be, then so be it. We go all the way to the end and even if it's Trafford kicking it long from his goal and it goes in, we will take it.
"I feel like we're at a different stage of the season from when we last played them. We have gelled together as a team and got better game by game.
"So, hopefully we can give it a good go, but they're decent at home and they will be fighting and well up for it. We will definitely need to be our best to come away with anything."
