Midfielder previews Villa trip

Josh Brownhill is ready for the visit to Villa Park on Thursday night, as the squad gear up for their final two matches of the Premier League season.

Brownhill on bouncing back quickly:

“Any game after a defeat, or not the result that you wanted, is [a positive]. When the [next] game comes thick and fast, it’s better for everybody. It gives you something to look forward to and for us, especially coming up to the end of the season, it’s a good game to go and get some points on the board.:

Brownhill on Togetherness:

“Throughout the season, everyone’s been together, but these last two games are going to be absolutely massive. We’re going to need everybody from the fans to the staff to all the players. It’s going to be a real big push for us because there’s no doubt that we’ve got the quality and we can win these games, so for us it’s about turning up on Thursday.”

Brownhill on a unified squad:

“Everybody’s got to be together. It’s been like that for a lot of the season as in there’ll be players who have been playing well but will miss out or not get as much game time as they can, but then when there’s an injury, they’ve been ready for it.

“In this team, everybody’s going to be ready for their time and I think at the weekend [against Tottenham Hotspur] it showed that. Longy [Kevin Long] came back in, Lowts [Matt Lowton] after a while out and Barnesy [Ashley Barnes] as well.

“We’ve got some really good players that are ready to come in and have an effect on the game. For us it’s about going there Thursday getting a result and the players will definitely give everything for that.”

Brownhill on the Clarets fans:

“They’ve been massively important. Sometimes when you can be near the bottom of the table for a long period of time, the fans can get frustrated but they’re getting behind us and they’ve been very positive as shown towards the latter stages of the season.

“For us it’s about rewarding them. We’ve done that over the past six games with some good performances and some very big results but we’re not stopping there, we want to send them home happy.

“We want to be in this division so we’re going to do everything for that to happen. I think they can see that especially with the performances we’ve been putting in.”

Brownhill on winning the PFA’s Community Champion award:

“I am honoured and very proud with the work that I’ve put in for the community. It’s not just me that does stuff for the community, there are other players in the team but to be recognised for some work is always good. I’m delighted with that.”
