Josh Brownhill and Jack Cork were delighted to see thousands of fans take to the streets of Burnley on Tuesday to celebrate the Claret's title-winning season.
Enjoying the celebrations at the town hall and on the bus parade, Brownhill said: “It means everything [to be here], to celebrate all the hard work we’ve done this year, to make a day of it obviously we had that day at the stadium on Monday, but it can only hold a certain amount of people so the people that didn’t go there can come and celebrate.
“We can celebrate with them and that’s what it’s all about you know how much the football club means to the town and how much the town means to us and all the players. To have this time to celebrate together is a really good feeling.
“I just feel a bit sorry for the people near the back and round the corner that can’t really see but you know we can see you and we appreciate you at the back don’t worry!”
Cork added: “I bet no-one could have foreseen what we’ve done this season it’s been crazy. We were slowly, slowly going and then we just steam-rolled through everything, it’s been amazing.
“It was so low last year we weren’t sure how it was going to be this year and it’s just been amazing. I don’t know the words; I haven’t got the vocabulary to say it, but it’s been great.”
It was an unforgettable season for the club and both players were keen to soak up every minute of the celebrations.
“It’s the memories that you make, you don’t get many of these in your career, so Monday, Tuesday, throughout the season, was one to remember."
With Cork adding: “It’s been so good, the kids, family on the pitch on Monday. The fans all stayed out and clapped us. We got to show appreciation for them, everything they’ve done for us this season, every away game they’ve been amazing, the home games have been great, and it’s just felt amazing. Even the rain, it didn’t bother anyone, everyone stayed out - it was class.”
