Josh Brownhill continued to display his goal scoring prowess on Saturday in the Clarets 5-1 win against Wigan Athletic.
The midfielder has scored four so far this season and talking after the game he spoke about his happiness about scoring a brace, the squad's togetherness and the relentlessness of the Championship.
Brownhill on the win:
“It was an amazing win, the lads played really well especially second half.
"To go two nil up, to concede and then they started to put a bit of pressure on us which was hard but to come back that second half, we were outstanding."
Brownhill on his two goals:
"The first goal, I thought I’d get myself in the box and it was a great ball in. To be honest I thought it went over the bar but then I saw the fans celebrating, I was just happy it went in.
"The second goal, it was another great ball by Bastien, I took a touch forward, came in on my left.
"It was good, I’ve not scored a brace before, so I’m buzzing with it!"
Brownhill on his role in the squad:
"I back myself scoring goals, I think I'm quite a good finisher, it's just about getting chances and putting them away. When I get a chance I feel like I’m going to score. I believe in my ability.
"It's good to play a different role, stay high up the pitch. It’s what I used to do when I was a bit younger. I’m used to trying to get on the ball and it’s about creating chances and putting them away."
Brownhill on the Clarets support:
"To us to see the fans behind the goal was unreal. The lads said it before the game and after, they were outstanding and to send them home happy, with five goals to celebrate.
"I think they realise; the noise helps us along. We’ve got a really good fanbase home and away. For us it’s about sending them home happy, whether it’s one nil, 2-1 or 5-1."
Brownhill on the upcoming games:
"We’ve put in some really good performances; we’ve just been a bit sloppy conceding a few goals. We’re really happy with today but we’ve got to put it behind us we’ve got a big game on Tuesday and then on Friday. They come thick and fast, so we’ve just got to focus on the next game.
"It's a quick turnaround, but we’re all fit, we showed that in the second half. There’s competition for places. It’s still early days, there’s lots of new faces in the building but it’s good we’re all starting to get to know each other. I’m sure we’ll now refresh and be ready to go again."
