Burnley FC are encouraging supporters to bring a tin of non-perishable food to our home game against the Hammers on Saturday 25th November, with all items donated to Burnley FC in the Community’s foodbank.
Demand at the foodbank, based in Burnley’s town centre, continues to increase and all donations of non-perishable items are welcome.
Supporters can donate their items at the Vertu branded bus and cars, which will be located outside the main reception on Harry Potts Way. The vehicles will be in place ahead of kick-off, between 1-3pm.
On the day supporters who donate an item can be entered into a prize draw to win two hospitality tickets for a game at Turf Moor!
Burnley FC Women got the ball rolling with donations for the foodbank recently, when players Leah Embley, Danielle Deehan, Brenna McPartlan, Isabella Reidford, Tilly Wilkes and Evie Priestley joined Head of Women’s Football Lola Ogunbote at Asda in Burnley to take part in Supermarket Swoop.
The challenge saw the players pair up to fill their trolley with a selection of listed items against the clock. The pair with the highest total in their trolley were crowned the winners and the end of the game saw Ogunbote confirm that the total of all three trollies would be added together, with the amount £1,355, donated to Burnley FC in the Community’s foodbank.
Burnley FC in the Community’s Unite for Hunger event…
In addition to the West Ham food drive, Burnley FC in the Community, the Club’s official charity held a Unite for Hunger event on Saturday 18th November in the Rapidz Fan Zone at Turf Moor. The charity and TikTok star Meals with Max united in an unprecedented effort to combat hunger and set a world record in Burnley! Fans were encouraged to bring tins and nonperishables including pasta and other long life food items to the Rapidz Fan Zone to help set a world record for most food items donated.
