Jordan Beyer faced the media on Monday afternoon, ahead of Tuesday night's East Lancashire Derby.
The defender spoke about his excitement for the fixture, using the lessons learnt from Saturday's defeat to QPR and his happiness at being reunited at centre back with Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
“I think it’s a game that couldn’t be any bigger basically. It’s still a game like the others as well, but it’s really special one tomorrow so we prepare extremely well for it and go into detail to be as prepared as possible. The occasion couldn’t be bigger for us to win the Championship at our rival’s place, I don’t think that happens all the time. They are also still fighting for the play offs spot, so the stage is really set for the game tomorrow. We just try to do our best and clinch that title.”
On Saturday's loss to QPR at Turf Moor he added: “Of course, we all were disappointed because we wanted to get the title at home, especially with our home form to keep the record alive. However, sometimes you loose football games, it happens, and we were frustrated obviously but we talked with the manager, with staff about what happened, what we did wrong, what we have to do better. The only thing we can do is go again on Tuesday and do our best to change these things and win the game.”

Beyer has featured 30 times for the Clarets so far this season and is loving his time in Lancashire.
“Honestly when I came here, I didn’t expect it to turn out like this. It’s hard to understand everything and maybe I will need a few weeks after the season to completely settle down a bit and to realise what just happened because, basically it’s like a wave we’ve been on, that’s gone through all the season. It’s been so much fun playing here, I’ve enjoyed every single day coming into training here. It’s been awesome playing with the guys, learning from the manager, from the coaching staff and being around everybody here. It’s just been an awesome journey and I hope it still goes on like this.”
Fellow centre back Taylor Harwood-Bellis returned from injury earlier this month and Beyer was full of admiration for his teammate.

“I can’t rate him high enough. For me he’s been extraordinary, when I first came here, I said it already, I thought he must be 26/27 [years old] because of the way he plays, there’s no chance he’s any younger than that. Then I looked on the team sheet and saw he’s born in 2002 and two years younger than me, I thought no that can’t be real.
“He’s just been outstanding, for his age, his abilities, he’s going to go places. Aside from that he’s a great person, a huge character, beside the football player, he’s just incredible it’s really nice to be around him. He’s a funny guy so I only have good words for him.”
Finally, at the business end of the season Beyer was asked questions about his future, however he is only determined to focus on the upcoming fixtures.
“I will have discussions about that yes and we’ll definitely talk to each other, with Burnley, with Mönchengladbach but I don’t have anything to say at the moment - I don’t know anything myself. We’ll see at the end. The only thing I think about is tomorrow’s game and get the title, then we can think about the other stuff.
